Rising up to the challenge

I used to think I had everything under control until I met a group of young people who challenge my life to an extent I never thought possible. I was awaken to the fact that there was more to life than I had thought or imagined. I used to live in this bubble of a perfect life, minding my business, doing my own things with just little effort. I was not really concerned about going out of my way to make an impact and contribute to humanity. I was not concerned about having more than enough to help others. I had this tiny idea that life was just about me.

These guys made me see how far behind I was. I had no skills, knowledge about things that matters because I was in my little bubble. Sometimes I was under pressure to catch up while other times I felt defeated, dejected and even afraid and timid.

But I had to make up my mind to be better than I was or to remain in self-pity. I began drafting a course for my life with a big picture in mind. And I must say, I’ve not gotten there yet but I’m proud of the person I am becoming.

We won’t always have it all figure out.

We won’t always meet up with the standards around us but one thing I learn is we’ve got to decide whether to rise to the challenge or remain in self-pity and timidity.

Meeting people every day especially people of standard awaken giant within us and possibilities to things we never thought possible. This pushes to learn more and impact more.

So, don’t be intimated by people of standard but be challenged to let loose that giant in you. Embrace them, see them as stepping stones and not pits or sources of discouragement.

It’s all about building confidence in your identity and being about to walk with your head held up high because you know you are doing what you are supposed to be doing and doing it well.
